Buying a Rolex from an AD in Italy. Hello everyone, I will be in Italy in july and will buy a watch while im there. I am not a EU resident and have never gotten a tax return.
Has anyone bought a Rolex from Italy and brought it back to the US? I was just wondering if the watch needs to be declared when you get back and how much taxes you have to pay for so I can calculate if it's worth buying a watch from Italy. Booked my vacation to Switzerland and I'll be headed there in a couple of months. Has anyone had recent luck buying a Rolex there? Will availability be easier in Switzerland since they're made there? Any AD's you guys would recommend visiting? Thanks! I was in Europe last week. Here's how the Rolex (for purchase) search went: Amsterdam - None. Cologne - Nope Strausburg - Nada (Although I bought a nice Breguet here) Basel (Switzerland, of all places) Zilch I hope you have better luck in Italy! Here is a little tool for those thinking about buying a Rolex while traveling abroad. As the US is one of the most expensive countries in the world to purchase a Rolex, here is a list of countries and the price after any VAT refund for a Rolex Submariner Date (116610LN).

I will be visiting Italy next week and was hoping to stop by the dealer there to see if they have anything in stock. Anyone have luck there somewhat recently? Been hoping to add a sky dweller or Daytona to my collection for a while now. I do have a question regarding purchases in other countries. I will be traveling to Spain, France, and Italy in the coming weeks and I'm curious to know if (1) the pricing varies much between these countries and the U.S., and (2) will the scarcity in inventory be any different than it is in the U.S. at the present time? Keep in mind that the smaller cities (Naples, etc) will only sell to locals given they don’t have enough allocation to serve tourists. Your best bet is to visit Rome and check out the official boutique off Via Condotti as they get the most allocation and will happily sell to tourists.
