The Royal Italian Navy SLC pilots wore Rolex made Panerai watches, which were the first true dive watches ever made, and they predated even the Rolex Submariner. The original Panerai watches made from 1935 to 1955 were top secret tools, and were never seen by or offered to sale to the public. Today, however, some Navy SEALs still maintain the elite organization’s relationship with Rolex on their own dime.
