Rolex Oyster Box + Bracelet OP8 15/423 Recently discovered whilst sorting through property of a late relative. Condition as pictured. Unknown provenance/history. Dispatched via Royal Mail Special Delivery.Rolex Steelinox is a material that is used in the manufacture of Rolex watches. It is a type of stainless steel that is hardened and tempered to a very high degree. This makes it very resistant to corrosion.
Today I picked up a vintage Tudor Prince Date Day and it was fitted with a newish steel Rolex Oyster bracelet. Inside the clasp it is marked OP8 and 15/423; in each end-piece is 53 16520.Apart from the Rolex reference number and the serial number, Rolex bracelets are also equipped with a so-called bracelet and clasp code. The Rolex bracelet code can be found on the inside of the clasp hinge. When looking at your Rolex, have you ever noticed the different codes or sets of numbers and letters throughout the watch, even on the Rolex clasp inside of the buckle? There's a simple answer to what they are and a more complex way to use them.
Also, note that apparantly the "15/423" code has not changed since Mike bought his SS GMT IIc (which is long ago). Could indicate that the code has nothing to do with "date" or "number of production", but is a FIXED code for _something_ (and my guess is that it is some sort of country code).Interestingly unlike some GMT Master straps it also has "STEELINOX" rather than "STEEL INOX" stamped on which is a bonus. Have Clean started using 1NQ? Would like to know the answer too.
Unclear in the photos but the number around the inside at 6 o’clock reads Z754008, the LEC can only be seen when the light hits it right and on the clasp it says OP8 15/423. My concerns are the bezel and the print on the date wheel.Discover your Rolex's production year with our comprehensive Rolex Serial Number Lookup tool.
