Functionally and aesthetically not too much has changed, it’s still the same Luminor 1950 case, complete with that iconic crown guard.
Beneath the closed caseback, Powering the 1305 is the automatic mechanical, P.9010 calibre. Compared to the older P.9000 caliber the P.9010 is noticeably thinner and has more jewels, 31 in number compared to 28. Like the original, the 1389 is built with a titanium case and fitted with an iron dial, and a soft iron Faraday cage encasing its movement beneath, rendering it impervious to the many modern dangers to mechanical watches. This powerful diver is a watch entirely in keeping with Panerai’s core values.
