Once again Dolce & Gabbana shows its commitment to young designers. After helping British punk-queer designer Matty Bovan last September, it is the turn of Japanese designer Tomo Koizumi to be invited to Milan. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana not only loaned their headquarters for a show venue and the atelier space in which to prep for it, they also provided materials for some of the looks.
Koizumi, who is 34, had brought his collection from Tokyo in vacuum-sealed bags to reduce their remarkable volume. He was working in a studio at the headquarters of Dolce & Gabbana a few blocks from Milan’s Porta Venezia, and he wore a Dolce & Gabbana T-shirt.
